Position Title : Plant Integration Engineer – Mechanical and Process Systems
Position Description : Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Plant Integration Engineer – Mechanical and Process Systems opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering oversight to the sodium leak detection, collection, and containment system, which supports sodium fire protection.
- Provide integration and oversight to geographically diverse team members to develop system design deliverables, with emphasis on radwaste processing and storage, and ancillary systems such as heating and air conditioning.
- Support development of conceptual design for new plants and systems, including responding to customer RFIs.
- Support integration with other process systems, including sodium and salt heat transfer systems, nuclear fuel handling, and reactor auxiliary systems.
- Support interface with other plant design departments, including plant 3D model development, Civil / Structural / Architectural, PRA, electrical, seismic, etc.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will display leadership skills by proactively driving cross functional design collaboration and integration of mechanical process systems, structures, and components.A bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences or a related technical field is required, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in nuclear power plant design or modifications, with emphasis on mechanical process systems.The candidate must be team oriented, and able to work effectively with geographically distributed and possibly international design team members.Candidate should have broad-based technical and engineering skills and experience leading an integrated cross functional design team.Experience with piping design and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections III and XI.Experience with material degradation, inspections and examination, and fracture mechanics.Familiarity with application of Licensing Modernization Project to nuclear design and NEI 18-04.Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey critical design integration information to senior management, the engineering team, customers, etc.Ability to work in a first of a kind environment that requires good engineering judgement and identify needed design progress to achieve key project objectives.Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, able to communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.Travel Required : 0-5%.Job Details
