Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Sr. Automation Specialist in our Torrance, California location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities :

• Develop Business Cases : Craft business cases to justify automation projects.
• Project Proposals : Present and advocate for future automation initiatives.
• Timeline Management : Develop and adhere to detailed implementation timelines.
• Project Implementation : Oversee the implementation of automation projects from start to finish.
• Collaboration : Work closely with product engineers to ensure seamless transitions during the automation process.
• Safety Analysis : Conduct safety analyses and implement necessary safety measures for automation projects.
• Problem Solving : Apply strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges.
• Technical Expertise : Utilize CAD and 3D printing technologies effectively.
• Training : Lead and organize training sessions to educate team members on robot programming.
• Process Improvement : Identify and eliminate manual processes to enhance efficiency.
• Maintenance : Maintain and optimize existing automation systems.
• Manufacturing Insight : Understand manufacturing processes to develop effective automation solutions.
• Documentation : Maintain technical documents such as manuals and SOPs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for automation solutions.
• Perform testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues in automation systems and applications.
• Provide technical support for automation systems, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for automation systems, including design specifications, user manuals, and procedures.
• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automation frameworks and tools.
• Lead automation initiatives across functional teams and development teams to streamline testing and deployment pipelines.
• Identify and implement best practices in automation, including standards, metrics, and documentation.
• Evaluate and implement new tools or technologies that improve automation efficiency or coverage.
• Monitor automation execution and maintain test reliability, accuracy, and coverage.
