Overview
We are seeking a skilled Substation Project Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Lewisville, TX. In this role, youll be responsible for leading the design and engineering of utility substations from concept through final construction drawings and project completion. You'll work on a variety of projects including relay upgrades, breaker additions, transformer replacements, RTU installations, and the development of new substations. This role requires a strong background in both electrical and physical substation design , with a focus on delivering quality projects on time and within budget.
- Apply expert knowledge of utility substation standards and engineering principles.
- Design electrical systems for relay upgrades, breaker installations, and more.
- Develop physical layouts for new equipment, bus additions, and substations.
- Create project deliverables : scope definitions, estimates, schedules, material specs, and construction packages.
- Lead project documentation : review sets, construction drawings, and as-built revisions.
- Ensure strong communication and collaboration with clients, utilities, manufacturers, and internal teams.
- Conduct site visits for inspections and documentation.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and CAD technicians.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and drive continuous improvement in design standards.
- Serve as Lead Engineer on assigned projects.
Qualifications & Experience
Education :
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)Experience :
