ROLE
The Accounting Intern role supports the company's mission by performing day-to-day accounting activities and month-end reconciling activities to ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The position will report to the Senior Accountant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for matching payable invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents. Resolving any discrepancies with procurement and vendors.
2. Responsible for timely and accurate coding of payable invoices.
3. Assist with new vendor set up as needed.
4. Reconcile Accounts Payable account at period end.
5. Assist in the accounts receivable process as necessary.
6. Other miscellaneous accounting tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Certification :
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program of Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Required Knowledge & Experience :
Exceptional business math skills.
Skills / Abilities :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to multi-task, maintain organization, and operate in a fluid and fast paced environment.
Must be a task-oriented team player with initiative.
Solid customer service abilities.

Repetitive Motion : The employee is regularly required to type throughout the day as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time.

Average Vision : Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Physical Strength : The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds (unassisted).
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position primarily works in an office environment; however, has potential for varied environments that may include off premise work and travel. Constant interaction with co-workers, customers, vendors, and general public.
