(WI) Automation Technician

Overview

This position supports production use of robotic and automated manufacturing equipment as well as installation / commissioning / repair of associated equipment. It will require interaction with engineering, operations, vendors (OEM and integrators), and all internal departments. The individual in this position is expected to function as part of the maintenance team, supporting equipment and facility activities. They will work with Engineering & Operations to apply and optimize robotic and automation systems improvements to processes and parts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal departments to help evaluate and select / propose automation solutions throughout facility
• Assist in setup and commissioning of new equipment
• Program equipment to execute operational functionality at a part number specific level
• Diagnosing / modifying control logic in industrial robotic systems to optimize equipment operation
• Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment
• Troubleshoot malfunctions of equipment, electrical control units and systems
• Install, test and repair electrical components
• Align, adjust and calibrate control components
• Document processes and create procedures & work instructions
• Maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests
• Train operators in use of equipment
• Perform plant engineering and maintenance functions as assigned
