Position Summary :
The Specialist 2 : Accounting is expected to :
- Review and process student, agency, and vendor accounts
- Prepare billings, and process payments and refunds
- Process student payment plans, exemptions, and contracts in the College's enterprise resource planning system and ensure the accuracy of data
- Assist students and agencies with questions pertaining to their accounts
- Establish and maintain confidential files
- Perform in-house collection activities
- Perform cashiering duties
- Provide data and prepare financial reports and statements
- Perform related duties of a similar nature or level
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends. The needs of this position require district-wide rotations to each campus.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Generating student paymentsVerifying transactional accuracyGenerating and compiling information from the Enterprise Resource Planning systemReconciling Enterprise Resource Planning or similar recordsCompiling and reporting tax informationResearching and preparing reportsCoordinating accounting processes to meet audit and fiscal deadlinesAccepting payments, such as for tuition, fees, and other chargesInitiating payments including student refundsPosting various charge and payment items within the Enterprise Resource Planning systemReconciling and adjusting student accountsProviding exceptional customer serviceJob Requirements :
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree andOne to three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experienceor
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed abovePreferred :
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field of studyThree to five years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experienceThe ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities :
