LEGISLATIVE FISCAL ANALYST
The Maine Legislature's Office of Fiscal and Program Review, a nonpartisan staff office of the Legislative Council, is seeking applicants for a Legislative Fiscal Analyst position. The position will be filled at a level commensurate with the applicant's experience and qualifications. Employees in this position work in our Augusta Office, are enthusiastic about supporting the important work of the Maine Legislature and conduct themselves in a highly confidential, professional and non-partisan manner.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree plus five years of relevant experience in economic, fiscal or budget analysis or an advanced degree with three years of relevant experience in these areas.
2. Strong financial and economic analysis skills required.
3. Strong oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy required.
4. Experience with state legislative and budget processes preferred. Experience in state and local education financing desired.
5. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with legislators, legislative staff, executive agency personnel and others required.
6. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software required.
Salary and benefits : The salary range for the Legislative Fiscal Analyst level is $76,689 to $106,787. The bi-weekly dollar values of some State-paid benefits for full-time employees include $15.22 for dental insurance; 14.11% of employee's pay towards retirement; and, depending on the employee's annual pay, at least 85% ($494.07) of health insurance premiums. Initial year vacation and additional paid leave starts at 4 weeks plus thirteen paid holidays.
