Myriad Genetics is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Manager within the Oncology Business Unit (OBU). This position will provide strategic and operational support for executing the OBU and Medical Affairs strategy. We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to guide the MSL team focusing on our oncology portfolio of germline, tumor molecular profiling, companion diagnostics, and all current and future pan-omic testing. The Manager will oversee all aspects of leading the field-based MSL team, including participating in the onboarding of new team members through scientific training and support. The candidate must possess a unique blend of strong business acumen, market awareness, and clinical expertise, to serve as a leader within Medical Affairs and with cross-functional internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will join Myriad Oncology's Medical Affairs team and will report to the Vice President of Medical Affairs.
Responsibilities :
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Medical Science Liaisons in collaboration with Medical Affairs leadership.
- Manage the performance of direct reports and assist with hiring and training.
- Lead company initiatives as needed in the field to ensure positive outcomes in line with the OBU objectives.
- KOL development in collaboration with Medical Affairs leadership.
- Assist in managing and allocating research requests through appropriate channels
- Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare clinicians
- Ensure timely feedback and coaching is provided to Medical Science Liaisons to improve performance.
- Continually advance and grow with market issues, trends, monitors the competitive landscape, and product knowledge specific to key therapeutic areas.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for use by the Medical Science Liaisons and assist with measuring metrics across in collaboration with other Medical Affair leaders
- Represent the company at medical conferences and scientific conventions
Qualifications :
Advanced degree required : (i.e. APP, PA, NP, MS, PharmD) in relevant scientific and clinical disciplines. Maintain current board certifications and / or licenses, preferred, while actively pursuing continuous education.Demonstrate advanced training and / or experience in clinical oncology. Familiarity with general oncologic pharmacology is also preferred.Understand genetics / genomics, genetic testing, and current service delivery models.Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development.Experience with Medical Affairs strategy and execution.Experience leading teams, with preference towards experience leading remote teamsAbility to work effectively in cross-functional environmentsExperience facilitating research discussions with KOLs and effectively communicating research results or clinical studies to a variety of audiences.Preference for candidates with established relationships with oncology thought leaders.Innovative problem solvingExcellent interpersonal as well as oral and written communication skillsDevelops, coaches, and builds effective people and teamsExcellent time management and scheduling skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work effectively under tight timelines and schedulesAbility to work independently and as a contributing team memberAbility to sense the importance or impact of issues and situations and take appropriate actionsMust be flexible, innovative, and self-motivatedMust have the flexibility to work extra hours to meet corporate and departmental goalsStrong communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsWilling and able to travel 3-5 days per month, occasional weekends for conferences / meetings.
