Position Overview

Navistars Chicagoland Used Truck Center (UTC) is currently seeking a Service Manager to join our team.

The position will be temporarily based at our Melrose Park location until our new facility in Joliet is opened early next year.

This role supports the General Manager, Wholesale Manager and Sales Representatives in keeping UTC inventory ready for sale, getting trucks to customers, inspecting, documenting and performing light repairs to recently acquired inventory and other duties as assigned.

Key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to :

• Truck Inventory Management - Daily Inventory tracking by vendor and unit
• Manage UTC Parts Inventory - Orders, charge outs and auditing
• Manage and coordinate UTC Truck Reconditioning
• Sales Support Assist Sales Teamwith the delivery of sold units as needed
• Facility Management Assist GM with Facility Management
• Quality Control - Checks for Repair Diagnosis, Corrective Action and Accuracy. Includes Test Drives as Needed.
• Assist UTC Sales Team Members with Lot Presentation of Truck Inventory
• Complete Monthly check of retail ready inventory
• Sales Support - Assist Sales Team with the delivery of sold units as needed
• Maintain Organization and Cleanliness of UTC Parts and Service Areas

Basic Requirements

• Associates degree
• At least 3 years of technical truck / automotive experience
• At least 5 years of technical truck / automotive experience

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.

Desired Skills

• Must have current CDL and maintain licensure
• Multi-tasking ability
• Basic computer skills
• Understand of basic diesel mechanics
• Ability and desire to work in fast-paced, multi-functional environment
• Knowledge of the OEM automotive / heavy truck industry and familiarity with major vehicle systems
• Experience within parts, service and aftersales including interfacing with dealers and suppliers
• Experience with vehicle diagnostics (hardware and software), diagnostic algorithms and telematics data and processing
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Perform corrective and preventative work
• Ability to lead and train
