Patient Transport Health Aid
This position is located at the Portland VA Medical Center, Inpatient & Emergency Services, Patient Transport (Escort) Unit in Portland, OR. Responsibilities This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-4. At the GS-2 and GS-3 grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-4. The primary purpose of this position is to deliver a broad array of health care services throughout the medical center and its various locations that provide patient care, i.e., living centers, etc. duties will include, but may not be limited to the following :
DESIGNATED DRUG-TESTING POSITION : Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with the VA. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test result is received.
Work Schedule : Days Vary from 2pm - 10 : 30pm with every other weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements : The work is primarily sedentary but also requires some standing, walking, bending, lifting and carrying of light items. The work requires above average agility and dexterity. The work may require heavy lifting of equipment or patients.
