Description :
The Registered Nurse applies nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills to deliver high-quality compassionate care to patients and families.
The RN assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Direct care is provided while evaluating patient progress and coordinating care delivery throughout the patient's episode.
The Med / Surg RN develops specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.
The RN is accountable for patient and family education, helping them understand self-care beyond hospitalization.
Lifestyle changes to support health and healing are emphasized to both patients and families.
The RN promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment.
Nursing knowledge and skills are applied in the delivery of care by assessing patient and family needs through active listening and data analysis.
An individualized plan of care is created, taking into account cultural relevance and developmental appropriateness.
Goals are set in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team, while monitoring patient progress actively.
The RN adjusts the care plan based on patient response or changes in condition.
Advocacy for the health, safety, and rights of the patient is a critical aspect of the role.
Quality and effectiveness of nursing practice are systematically evaluated to initiate changes in care delivery.
Self-evaluation of practice is encouraged to identify strengths and areas for professional development.
Skills in medication administration and nursing interventions are demonstrated regularly.
Patient and family education is prioritized to promote continued care and healing at home.
Learning styles are assessed to maximize understanding during educational sessions.
