Additional Information About the Role Schedule Full time Night shift 7p-7:30a Weekend/Holiday rotation Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Division 7500/75PCU is a fast paced Cardiovascular Surgery division made up of 25 beds with a mix of step down and pcu beds. We care for a variety of complex cardiovascular surgery patients including aortic and abdominal aneurysms, thoracic outlet syndrome, carotid artery disease, aorto-iliac and lower extremity occlusive disease, peripheral vascular disease, arrhythmia surgery, endoscopic coronary artery revascularization, valve repair and many more. The Staff Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the patient care team using critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to continually assess the patients'; status. The Staff Nurse (RN) is trained in critical care and will be certified in BLS, ACLS, ACUTE CARE, arterial line monitoring, and pacer wires. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Unit Secretary performs clerical duties supporting the operations of the patient care team. Responsibilities Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support. Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail. Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures. Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
