CST and VA state registration required at time of submittal.Candidates must have 2 years recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic and vascular cases.

These include, but are not limited to, the following : Coronary Artery Bypass, Ascending Aortic Aneurysms, Valve Repair and Replacement, Structural Heart Procedures (TAVR, Mitraclip), Thoracic Organ (Heart and Lung) Transplant, ECMO, Ventricular Assist Devices, redo and emergent cases.

Adult scrub experience required, pediatric scrub experience a plus.Ability to multitask and apply critical thinking skills a must.

Numerous research protocols- ongoing. Overtime may be necessary.Call is required approx. 1-2 12 hour shift M-F and 1 weekend per month.

The Surgical Technician / Tissue Processing Technician isresponsible for the sterilization of surgical equipment, arrange surgicalequipment and adjust medical tools to ensure that the surgical devices arefunctioning properly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Places equipment and supplies in operating room and arrangesinstruments, according to instructionsAssists team members to place and position patient on tableScrubs arms and hands and dons gown and glovesAids team to don gowns and glovesMaintains supply of fluids, such as plasma, saline, blood,and glucose for use during operationHands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors,cuts sutures, and performs other tasks as directed by the surgeon duringoperation.

Puts dressings on patient following surgeryCounts sponges, needles, and instruments before and afteroperationWashes and sterilizes equipment, using germicides andsterilizersCleans operating roomPerforms other duties as assigned / necessaryMinimum Requirements : Surgical Technologist certification as applicable per stateand / or client requirementOne year experience as a Surgical Technician preferred(Tissue Processing Technologist only)Degree in biology related field which includes a degree / certification as a Surgical Technologist preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpracticeParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills;
