Overview

The Payroll Operations Coordinator is a vital member of our Leave Accommodations team at Chick-fil-A, Inc., serving as the primary contact for all payroll-related processes concerning leaves of absence. This role is instrumental in leading customer service initiatives and managing inquiries for the Payroll Operations team while executing critical payroll functions. A deep understanding of technical payroll principles is essential, along with the ability to work independently on intricate issues. This position emphasizes the importance of consulting and advising colleagues effectively and aims to streamline processes through innovative technologies like automation and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary payroll contact for the Leave Accommodations team, managing all pay-related inquiries for leaves of absence for Chick-fil-A, Inc. and its Related Entities.
  • Accurately calculate and process paid leave wages for employees on leave.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Risk and insurance providers regarding wage replacement processes, encompassing federal, state, and local workers' compensation.
  • Manage requests from third-party providers concerning timekeeping, wage, and W-2 data.
  • Ensure accurate correction of payments arising from leave adjustments for employees.
  • Consult with the Payroll Center of Excellence and Legal on complex or unusual leave scenarios.
  • Lead customer service initiatives and manage inquiries using Service Gateway and relevant tools.
  • Develop and implement processes for inquiry responses, including the creation of standard responses and knowledge base articles.
  • Serve as the main liaison with the Support Now team for Payroll Operations.
  • Oversee the verification of employment processes for Chick-fil-A, Inc. and its Related Entities.
  • Manage ACH returns, the printing and mailing of paper checks, and unclaimed property processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in payroll operations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for advanced data analysis and reporting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to connect innovative concepts to strategic goals and implement actionable plans successfully.
  • Proactive team player with a focus on collaboration and relationship building.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex information effectively.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws.
  • Advanced understanding of leave of absence payroll calculations.
  • Familiarity with Alteryx or similar platforms.
