Job Description

Vanderlande's Controls Engineering Department is responsible for the design, programming, commissioning, and testing of material handling systems for our customers. This is an entry level position, as a Controls Project Engineer 2, you will be responsible for commissioning / testing, the design of both small- and large-scale material handling systems that integrate hardware and software components.

Key Responsibilities :

• Configure component level devices
• Perform device level testing in support of PLC commissioning
• Perform device level testing in support of SCADA commissioning
• Document device level testing for PLC and SCADA commissioning (commissioning Checklist)
• Perform zone level testing in support of PLC commissioning
• Perform zone level testing in support of SCADA commissioning
• Document zone level testing for PLC and SCADA commissioning (commissioning Checklist)
• Perform area level testing in support of PLC commissioning
• Perform area level testing in support of SCADA commissioning
• Document area level testing for PLC and SCADA commissioning (Product running test)
• Document daily progress of assigned tasks
• Manage punch lists (software / electrical / mechanical)
• Monitor and document the progress of subcontractors
• Follow all safety requirements at the jobsite
• Write commissioning checklist with direction of lead engineer
• Write test plans with direction of lead engineer (Area, Zone, Section level)
• Write Controls Functional Specification / Description of Operations under direction of lead engineer
• Write, debug, and test PLC code under direction of lead engineer
• Develop and test SCADA / HMI programs under direction of lead engineer
• Commission and test PLC control panel under the direction of lead engineer
• SCADA commissioning and testing under the direction of lead engineer
• Perform of quality checks on-site and provide documentation of completion and status
• Preparation and review of daily and weekly progress reports
