1G is a 22 bed Progressive Non-ICU unit at Blodgett Hospital that specializes in the care of a variety of medically complex patients, including those with cardiac arrythmias and who require bipap. People are drawn to 1G for its teamwork, dedication to excellence, and the opportunity to learn and challenge themselves in a fast-paced environment.

Set within a quiet, beautifully maintained property of mature trees and healing gardens. Blodgett Hospital has earned a reputation for excellence as a community and teaching hospital since 1846. We provide patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private patient rooms and outpatient services for medical, surgical and specialty care, achieving high rates of patient satisfaction.

Scope of Work

Performs receptionist / secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies, and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests / procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit / hospital standard within a reasonable time frame.

The Unit Secretary is the "go to" on each unit for clerical support. Responsibilities include taking phone calls, helping with directions to all visitors or outside team members to the unit (lab, radiology, patient transport, nutrition services, environmental services), calling support when directed by clinical staff, assisting with discharge, admit, and transfer paperwork, ordering supplies, ensuring rooms are appropriately stocked, answering call lights for any non-direct patient care needs, etc.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant related experience preferred

Core Schedule :

12-hour shifts : 6 : 30pm-7 : 00am

8-hour shifts : 10 : 30pm-7 : 00am

Week 1 : Sunday (12 hour), Wednesday (8 hour), Thursday (8 hour)

Week 2 : Monday (8 hour), Friday (8 hour), Saturday (12 hour)

Week 3 : Sunday (12 hour), Monday (8 hour), Friday (8 hour)

Week 4 : Monday (8 hour), Friday (8 hour), Saturday (12 hour)

Week 5 : Sunday (12 hour), Thursday (8 hour), Friday (8 hour)

Week 6 : Monday (8 hour), Friday (8 hour), Saturday (12 hour)
