SUMMARY :
Watts Health Center is seeking a reliable Licensed Vocational Nurse I or II for our Los Angeles clinic. The LVN will work collaboratively with providers and staff to provide and manage patient care utilizing critical thinking and the nursing process.
Responsible for performing nursing services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Physician.
Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice and treats coworkers, patients, families and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Assisting doctors with examinations and other nursing procedures; collecting and labeling laboratory specimens in accordance with laws and policies.
- Maintaining complete and accurate patient records.
- Data entry thru EHR.
- Administering EKG’s, IV therapy, checks patient’s vital signs, catheterization and irrigation.
- Strictly adhering to universal precautions as established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, DHS / OA and clinic standards.
- Assisting doctors with examinations and other procedures relating to direct patient care.
- Dressing wounds.
- Administering immunizations and medications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements :
- A Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of California is required.
- At least 1 year experience as an LVN in a clinic setting.
- Working knowledge of direct patient care methods and practices in a community clinic setting.
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, strong organization skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Fluent in Spanish / English preferred.
- New LVN grads are highly encouraged to apply.
