GI & Cancer Center RN Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily operations of the Memorial Healthcare Cancer Center, department of Memorial Medical Associates (MMA). This includes but is not limited to regulatory agency compliance, staff allocation, productivity and resource allocation. Responsible for staff educational and compliance needs as they relate to job performance and expectations. Contributes to the development of an operational budget and is expected to maintain budgets as set forth from MMA Administration. Responsible for good communication development within each practice and responds to all practice needs in a timely manner.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess, plan, organize and direct overall service operations of the infusion center and ambulatory office.
- Accountable for completing yearly operational budget and for meeting budget for assigned practices.
- Review approve and forward invoices for MMA practices to Accounting.
- Handle all coaching and discipline with all MMA office staff members.
- Ninety (90) day and annual employee evaluations for all MMA office staff members.
- Investigate all MMA patient complaints.
- Accountable to ensure staff is managing providers’ schedules in a way that it is beneficial to both patient and office workflow.
A participant in goal development and oversight of medical office practices and operations
as it relates to staff and ancillary support.
Ensure that educational needs of the staff are being met and maintained as dictated by
regulatory agencies and organizational compliance.
Keep MMA administration informed of departmental activities within each medical office as it relates to operational activities and needs of the specific office practice.Plans, implements, and evaluates a nursing care delivery system for assigned area(s) that reflects the hospital and nursing department philosophy using effective principles of leadership and management.Assure adequate staffing, inventory, supplies, and physical space to facilitate efficient day to-day operations of medical offices.Provides clinical support and resources for staff.Promotes good working relationships among nursing staff members in department, between departments, and with other disciplines and departments.Identifies problems or potential problems in department(s) and works with staff and providers to develop solutions to resolve problems.Conduct monthly formal meetings with each medical office.Conducts department monthly safety rounds to ensure a secure environment, safe and effective use of equipment and technology, and decreased risk of potential adverse patient occurrences.Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on his / her assigned unit. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his / her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's and division's policies and procedures.Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and the code of ethical behavior.Develop and enforce policies and procedures, orientation guides, operating instructions,
and other documents as requested.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.Active RN Michigan license.Baccalaureate degree in nursing required or must be enrolled.ACLS required (excluding Behavioral Health and Cancer Center).Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) requiredDepartmental specific requirements as outlined in Attachment AEXPERIENCE
Two years oncology experience in program development and / or service
line management.
Five years of hospital clinical nursing experience.Minimum three years nursing experienceOne year of nursing supervision experience in an acute care setting required within the most recent two years.Previous management experience preferredESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES / MOTOR SKILLS

Must be able to travel independently throughout the hospital; access patients / families including areas confined by space and / or equipment.

Proficiency using modern office, computer and telephone equipment as used by
Memorial Healthcare.
