Summary
Assist the plant in providing the necessary maintenance resources and record keeping that is required to increase plant productivity, assist in maintenance work preparations to improve work efficiencies, and increase plant performance. Responsible for maintaining production equipment availability and performance at satisfactory levels through the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting of repair activities. Assure resources are available and adequate to complete these tasks. Preparation of reports, metrics, and other tracking tools will allow this employee to succeed. The Maintenance Planner Scheduler will support all policies, goals, and objectives of the company, and will represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
May include, but are not limited to, the following :
Process and manage purchase requisitions for parts and services needed to support maintenance activities
Manage maintenance Spare Parts Inventory
Maintain files for maintenance related purchase requisitions
Maintain specification records for production equipment
Track shipments of repair parts or locate in stock; deliver to appropriate location or individual as needed
Enter all applicable supplier information into CMMS system
Monitor data in CMMS system to ensure work orders are created for any work requiring labor time of 30 minutes or more
Ensure all labor hours, materials, and necessary notes associated with the work are accurately recorded in CMMS system
Help to ensure appropriate root cause is captured within Work Orders prior to being closed
Coordinate upcoming project needs and plans with Maintenance Manager
Order parts necessary to complete the job planned and expedite parts if necessary to meet the priority placed on the work request
Manage and schedule equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities such as inspections, oil changes, lubrications, etc
Plan all maintenance activities to be completed during scheduled production downtime under the direction of the Maintenance Manager
Communicate maintenance work schedule to operations and maintenance supervision. Gain alignment of schedule and ensure compliance
Arrange and coordinate outside resources / services as needed
Schedule, coordinate, and procure all sub-contractor assistance, rental equipment, and / or specialty tools necessary to execute the job planned
Provide input to management and suggest improvements for efficiency
Evaluate and analyze equipment history and predictive maintenance data and trends to assist in the anticipation of plant maintenance needs
Responsible for notifying Maintenance Superintendent of any problems or issues with inventory, planning and scheduling
Maintain Hot Work permit files
Perform other related duties as designated by supervision
Education, Experience and Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma
Associates degree in technical field preferred
5 to 7 years’ experience in maintenance
2 years’ experience in production, and / or manufacturing
Must have valid driver’s license
Proficiency with Windows based software (specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook) required
Experience with CMMS Software
General understanding of repair parts, electrical, and mechanical equipment
Extensive knowledge and ability to plan and schedule maintenance activities
Experience with inventory management and labor and material planning
Ability to recognize opportunity for process improvement
Knowledge of forklift operation and maintenance repair preferred
Knowledge of OSHA standards and requirements preferred
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in a corporate environment
Ability to operate well in a team environment.
Essential Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Must be able to work standing for up to 8-12 hours / shift.
Must be able to kneel, squat, bend / twist at the waist
Must have full range of motion (ROM) of shoulders, knees, hips, elbows, wrists, and hands
Must be able to wear compliant ear protection if and when, working in areas exposed to noise levels above OSHA threshold limits
Must be able to work in hot environments (Especially summer months) that can exceed 100F
Wear all required personal protective equipment (Safety toe shoes, ANSI Z87 eye protection, CR gloves)
Must be able to lift / move / transport items up to 50 pounds
Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
Must be able to ascend / descend stairs or ladders
Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
