Shipping Clerk
AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Shipping Clerk to be located in Kankakee, IL. Reporting to the DC Supervisor, the Shipping Clerk will serve as a resource to the shipping team in a way that allows for the shipping process to be operated and maintained so that the plant goals for safety, quality, service, production, housekeeping, and communication are achieved.
Job Duties :
- Collect data for Shipping supervisors / manager
- Ability to identify a problem, secure information relevant to problem, collect data from different sources, and seek assistance in identifying possible cause of problems.
- Ability to develop alternative courses of action and limited decision-making; seeks assistance in determining courses of action.
- Carry out fairly well standardized administrative procedures, such as maintaining records, answering straightforward questions.
- Ensure shipping operators conduct proper investigations for incidents ad use proper forms (ie shipping errors)
- Shipment order entry from ERP system (M3) to WMS (Red Prairie) to create bill of ladings and picking orders.
- Organize and plan the daily shipment schedule for outbound shipments.
- Prepare, process, and schedule FedEx and UPS shipments. Generate small parcel labels.
- Answer all emails requests from Customer service, carriers, and customers. I.e order cancellations, quantity adjustments, delivery additions, bill of lading requests.
- Schedule picking orders into work groups in WMS (Red Prairie).
- Track sundry inventories.
- Responsible for document retention.
- Fill in for Shipping and Receiving specialist.
- Check in and coordinate truck drivers.
- Coordinate and manage special projects to assist plant.
Job Qualifications :
1-2 years shipping planning experience1-2 years working with WMS systemsExperience in Customer ServiceStrong data entry skillsIntermediate Microsoft Office SkillsStrong Excel experience preferredTeam player and positive attitudeSelf-starter needing little or no supervisionStrong oral and written communication skills.
