Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design invites applications for the position of full-time Assistant Professor of 2D Foundations + Printmaking. The curriculum in Foundations serves RMCAD's BFA degrees across a range of Art and Design programs. Responsibilities In this role include educating students in 2D foundations + printmaking, curriculum development, and working collaboratively across the college in support of the institution's mission and values.
RMCAD's Foundations Department is dedicated to fostering academic excellence through teaching approaches that center student success in the first year of higher education. Our goal is to prepare artists + designers to be engaged citizens and thrive in a complex global society. The Foundations curriculum establishes the technical, conceptual, and analytical competencies that serve as the bedrock for artistic disciplines and creative pursuits.
Minimum Qualifications :
- A Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking or closely related field.
- University level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum writing and teaching in the area of 2D foundations + printmaking.
- A willingness to work collaboratively with faculty, mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures and academic backgrounds is essential.
- Must reside in the greater Denver area or be willing to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications :
University-level online / hybrid teaching experience.Evidence of supporting student success and engagement.Expertise in Photoshop, and Illustrator.Evidence of scholarship in the field (exhibitions, residencies, conference presentations, publications, etc.).Primary Responsibilities :
Teaching + Instruction
Responsibilities include a full teaching load conducted over 8-week terms.Courses taught in this role are Seminar : Methods of Inquiry, Observational Drawing, Life Drawing 1, Life Drawing 2, Topics in Color, 2D Design, Relief, Intaglio, + Monotypes and Photographic Printmaking.Scholarship + Creative Work
Evidence of ongoing scholarship in the field (curation, conference presentations, publications, etc.).Evidence of an active studio practice through creation and exhibition.Service to the Department
Support the Institutional Mission, Vision, Values, Diversity Statements and the Department Mission.Participate in program reviews, academic assessment, and course development as needed.Attend college events, meetings, and training sessions as determined by the Department Chair.Engage with community organizations and associations that further and promote RMCAD.How To Apply :
