Staff Accountant

Job DescriptionAltruic Advisors is seeking a Staff Accountant. This is a hybrid remote / in-person position. Your working hours will typically be split between your home office and our collaborative firm office, with occasional travel to clients.As a Staff Accountant, you will : Support our CFO Solutions team in providing remote accounting services to nonprofit organizations across the United StatesPerform time-sensitive, day-to-day accounting tasks for a wide range of nonprofit clients, including : Entering transactions and maintaining general ledgersManaging accounts payable Processing payroll Reconciling bank and credit card accounts Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with other Altruic Advisors team members to answer questions, respond to requests, and resolve accounting issues Provide audit support for clients, including communication with the clients auditors and fulfilling requests for accounting records or other documentationEstablish, document, and evaluate internal processes to increase efficiency and ensure an exceptional client experienceQualificationsBachelors Degree in AccountingOne year of recent accounting experience (nonprofit experience is preferred, but not required)A strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to consistently apply GAAP principles in day-to-day accounting transactionsFamiliarity with QuickBooks Online and BILL.com (or a willingness to learn)Team / Interpersonal SkillsEffective written and oral communication skillsAbility to maintain an excellent rapport with nonprofit clientsCommunicates openly with managers and other team members to keep everyone informed of progress, challenges, and successes Professional StylePrefers working within a small, non-traditional firm environmentDetail-oriented and a strong critical thinkerProactive approach to problem-solving; anticipates and resolves potential issues before they escalateTakes ownership of tasks and seeks out solutions independently A positive attitude, outstanding client service skills, and a desire to learn and growCompensation and BenefitsAt Altruic Advisors, we believe that our team members are our most valuable resource.
