This job manages the internal communications team in the delivery of consistent messaging to company employees. Serves as the internal communications gatekeeper for the organization including writing, editing, coordinating and publishing content for internal stakeholders.

Assesses current communications channels and advises stakeholders on the most effective avenues for communication. Writes and advises on key internal messages for executive leadership, assists with special projects and produces other communications and writing projects as needed.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in related field.

Work Experience

Required - 7 years of experience in corporate or business communications including two years in a management.

Preferred - Experience with computer-based e-zines and other electronic publishing venues.

Healthcare communications experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and illustrator software as well as digital photography devices.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24 / 7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Job Duties

  • Develops key internal messages.
  • Identifies key stakeholders.
  • Manages existing communications channels.
  • Develops editorial content.
  • Works with management to identify emerging issues or opportunities.
  • Serves as a key member of organization's disaster recovery team.
  • Provides feedback to management.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
