As OSMC continues to grow our staff needs to grow with it. Therefore, we are looking for a skilled Nurse Practitioner. The ideal individual would need to travel between our office locations in Elkhart, Goshen, Granger, Nappanee and Middlebury, Indiana. The position will be stationed within our Elkhart California Road Corporate Office but must be able to travel throughout all the locations. This position will report directly to the Provider Physicians with a dotted line reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice nurse who provides advanced levels of nursing patient care to the specialty population of patients with acute, chronic or sports injury and orthopedic needs in a clinical office setting. The NP will assess patients by using advanced clinical knowledge and skills to identify abnormal conditions; diagnose orthopedic problems; develop and implement nursing treatment plans; evaluate patient outcomes; and collaborate with or refer to physicians of the practice. The NP will use advanced knowledge and skills in teaching and guiding patients to other health care team members. Appropriate critical thinking skills are needed to make independent decisions, collaborate with the autonomy, authority, and responsibility of a Nurse Practitioner.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in an Orthopedic setting with a m aster’s degree in nursing; must have a current Indiana license as a registered nurse; and must have graduated from an accredited advanced practice nurse program as a nurse practitioner. The required certifications would be a current BLS (basic life support certification); and Certified as an adult or family advanced Practice Nurse / Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Nurse Practitioner Credentialing Center, (NPCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
