As a Senior AI and Application Security Engineer you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities within software applications and AI systems. You'll design and implement security architectures, perform code reviews, penetration testing, and lead security assessments to ensure our products are secure-by-design.

You will collaborate closely with development and product teams to integrate secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle and prevent risks before they emerge. Additionally, you'll provide expert security guidance to developers and stakeholders, helping to foster a culture of security awareness across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement security architectures for AI integrations, including agent security, prompt injection prevention, and workflow validation

Establish secure-by-design principles and patterns for AI systems that enable teams to build secure capabilities efficiently

Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for AI features and multi-agent orchestration platforms

Develop and maintain security standards for AI model integration, data handling, and agent communication protocols

Provide consultation on AI security engineering decisions and trade-offs

Create architectural documentation and reference implementations that accelerate secure AI development

Stay current with emerging AI security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices

Partner with Product and Engineering teams to balance security requirements with product velocity

Mentor engineers on AI security architecture principles

Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and data privacy regulations

What You'll Bring

Experience in cloud or application security

Working knowledge of AI system architectures and related security risks

Familiarity with threat modeling and security architecture for complex distributed systems

Experience designing security controls for distributed applications and automated workflows

Track record of developing and adopting security standards across engineering organizations

Strong knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps methodologies

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex security concepts for diverse audiences

Experience with AI frameworks, agent architectures, and orchestration platforms

Demonstrated ability to balance security and business objectives

Strong collaboration and influence skills across cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications :

Eagerness to deepen expertise in AI workflow validation, agent testing, and monitoring methodologies

Understanding of AI regulatory compliance and governance frameworks, including emerging global standards

Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with modern AI frameworks and tooling; Google Cloud Platform is a plus

Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or IAPP AIGP (or equivalent)

Experience with DevSecOps platforms and automation pipelines (e.g., GitLab)

The Salary Range for the role is $84,000.00 - $133,000.00 / year. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. New York Exempt : New York City and Long Island : $64,350.00 / year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties : $64,350.00 / year, Remainder of New York state : $60,405.80 / year New York Non-exempt : New York City and Long Island : $16.50 / hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties : $16.50 / hour, Remainder of New York state : $15.50 / hour Washington Exempt : $77,968.80 / year Washington Non-exempt : Bellingham : $17.66 / hour, Burien : $21.16 / hour, Unincorporated King County : $20.29 / hour, Renton : $20.90 / hour, Seattle : $20.76 / hour, Tukwila : $21.10 / hour, Remainder of Washington state : $16.66 / hour
