SUMMARY
The Coding Quality Analyst reviews medical records to validate the completion of all coding audit workflows. Analyze audit findings coded health information records to evaluate the quality of coding and abstracting, verifying accuracy and appropriateness of assigned diagnostic and procedure codes, as well as other abstracted data, such as POA, discharge disposition, etc.. Ensure accurate assignment of all risk adjustment variables. The Coding / Quality Analyst will assist the Supervisor by tracking and trending front-end activities that influence coding audit workflows, identifying opportunities for workflow efficiencies and optimization to support quality initiatives and financial performance. This role will collaborate with the Coding, CDI and the DRG Denials Teams.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
3 years Acute Hospital-Based Coding experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience working in a remote environment.
(RHIT) REGD HEALTH INFO TECHNOLO or
(RHIA) REGD HEALTH INFO ADMINIST or
(CCS) CERT CODING SPECIALIST AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist or
CIC) AAPC Certified Inpatient Coder
Preferred
Associate’s Degree or
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, or a closely related field or
5 years of related experience
Experience in an Academic Medical Center
