Overview
A well-established electrical contracting firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large commercial, institutional, and healthcare electrical projects in the San Antonio region. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle management, ensuring safety, quality, financial performance, and schedule compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Review and interpret contracts, scopes of work, and project specifications.
- Develop and maintain master project schedules, look-ahead planning, and milestone tracking.
- Coordinate with preconstruction, engineering, field supervision, vendors, and subcontractors.
Financial Management
Manage project budgets, forecasts, and job cost reporting.Prepare owner requisitions, subcontractor pay applications, and change orders.Identify potential cost impacts, risks, and financial trends early.Execution & Leadership
Ensure safety requirements are fully integrated into project planning and daily operations.Oversee manpower planning, material procurement, logistics, and equipment management.Lead project teams, including field leaders, subcontractors, and project support staff.Quality & Compliance
Maintain adherence to the company’s quality control standards.Monitor installation methods, drawings, and specifications for compliance.Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled prior to subcontractor mobilization.Communication & Reporting
Conduct regular progress meetings with owners, general contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders.Provide weekly and monthly reports on schedule, costs, and project performance.Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of project management experience in electrical construction.Experience managing commercial, healthcare, or institutional electrical projects is strongly preferred.Background with a commercial electrical contractor required.Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, NEC standards, cost control, scheduling, and safety regulations.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.Software Skills
Proficiency in scheduling and project management platforms such as Primavera, MS Office (Excel / Word), and construction management systems (e.g., Procore or similar).Familiarity with industry-standard contract formats (AIA documents).Leadership & Soft Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage teams in fast-paced environments with tight schedules.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
