ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's Maine team is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to support land development projects in our South Portland office. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a growing team of civil engineers in southern Maine managing the design of ski resort improvements, national park projects, local urban re-development projects, transit-oriented development, and federal, state, and local (City / Town) projects throughout Maine. VHB offers a unique combination of industry-leading Land Development experience across our footprint coupled with a focused and driven team of local professionals who are growing the delivery of these services across the state.

Our Maine Land Development team is looking for a Site Civil Engineer who is passionate about contributing to the delivery of these fun and unique projects. Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans, reports, and specifications for a multitude of land development projects

• Technical and design report writing
• Civil engineering for federal, resort, residential, higher education, renewable energy, and municipal design including grading and drainage design, utility design, and site layout
• Preparation and / or reviewing design criteria, drawings, and specifications
• Compilation of Stormwater Management reports, including Hydrologic modeling and pipe sizing
• Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation
• Assist in the preparation of permitting, design, and construction documents
• Attending meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design / permitting issues
