Overview
Our client, a growing financial institution, is seeking an IT Report Writer / Mortgage Portfolio Business Analyst / FHFA Reporting Specialist to support Member Asset Programs. This position plays a key role in regulatory reporting, data validation, and mortgage portfolio analytics. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills and a solid understanding of the mortgage industry, particularly in relation to FHFA compliance and AMA reporting.
Key Responsibilities Regulatory Reporting & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with FHFA reporting requirements by preparing accurate and timely submissions.
Lead preparation of internal and regulatory AMA reports, including ALMC and Board materials.
Develop reporting timelines and coordinate with teams to ensure clean, accurate data from vendor portals.
Data Analysis & Portfolio Insights
Analyze and compare AMA reports across reporting cycles to identify inconsistencies or risk-profile changes.
Perform data validation and pricing comparisons using MAP and Client / Freddie Mac LLPA grids.
Provide portfolio insights that support mortgage asset strategy and risk management decisions.
Program & Risk Management Support
Collaborate with Financial Risk Management and Investment / Portfolio Management teams to assess program risks.
Support evaluation and implementation of new program features.
Oversee MAP single / aggregate pool commitments and monitor PFI sub-master commitments.
Reporting Automation & Process Improvement
Enhance dashboards, reporting tools, and automation within the AMA reporting environment.
Support cross-functional reporting initiatives and provide ad hoc analysis as needed.
Requirements Technical Skills
3+ years of experience with Advanced Excel, VBA, and SQL Server .
Experience using PowerQuery and / or Qlik Sense to build regulatory reporting outputs.
Familiarity with Oracle , Microsoft SQL , and data mapping practices.
Industry & Functional Expertise
2+ years of experience in the mortgage industry (origination, underwriting, or servicing preferred).
3+ years of business or data analysis experience, ideally within mortgage banking or a financial institution.
Strong understanding of the residential mortgage lifecycle and credit risk transfer .
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required.
Advanced degree preferred.
Soft Skills
Ability to manage multiple reporting cycles and work under tight deadlines.
Strong presentation, communication, and documentation skills.
