Strength and Conditioning Coach
As the strength and conditioning coach, you will create sport-specific development plans for artist-athletes and work with coaches on periodization to ensure peak-performance in championship periods.
In this position you will coordinate with athletic trainers in managing injury prevention or rehabilitation of injured artist-athletes, oversee individual athletes and teams in the fitness facilities, and provide technical instruction for strength and conditioning movements.
Additionally, you must be able to keep detailed records of artist-athlete workouts, provide regular reports to coaching staff, and keep current on best practices for performance training and injury pre-habilitation.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate in a positive and motivating fashion to artist-athletes and coaching staff and should be organized, able to create long-term development plans for athletes, and manage training volume appropriately to allow for peak performance at critical times of the year.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree
- At least one year of experience working in the strength and conditioning and field training of performance athletes
- CSCS or equivalent strength and conditioning certification
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in the college athletics environment
Certificates, licenses, and registrations :
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent strength and conditioning certification
Travel required :
Less than 10%
Work Hours : The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 a.
m. to 5 : 30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and / or hours, including weekends and evenings.
