Role Summary
Responsible for monitoring, supervising, and guiding residents in their daily routine. Provide a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for residents and their children in direct care.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, protection, and care of residents individually and in groups at all times.
- Assist residents in working with groups and addressing individual problems.
- Administer discipline and set limits for behavior.
- Document residents\' progress; identify the need for professional services; communicate findings to professional staff.
- Ensure safety of residents during transportation to and from appointments as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Anne\'s, licensing, HIPAA, and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Must meet one of the following :Bachelor\'s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related degreeHave obtained a valid Child Development Teaching PermitHave completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, Foster and Kinship Care Education, or Psychology and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with youthHave a valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor or Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with youthHave a valid vocational training certificate, credential, or documentation demonstrating that the individual is a trade journeyperson who instructs children in vocational skills and have at least 100 hours of experience working with youth as a mentor, athletic coach, teacher, vocational coach, tutor, counselor, or other relevant experiencePreviously been employed as full-time staff or served as a volunteer at a group home, short-term residential therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program for at least one yearHave relevant life experience in the child welfare, mental health or juvenile justice systems as a consumer, mentor, or caregiver, or life experience with children who have experienced trauma, or other relevant experience as determined by the departmentMust possess and maintain a valid California Driver\'s License and a driving record acceptable to the agency\'s insurance carrierSt. Anne\'s Family Services is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply!
