What Will You Do
- Work with senior management to execute strategic plans and objectives for the development of industrial plants from demonstration capabilities to full commercialization.
- Provide oversight of the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical engineering systems to meet scalability, sustainability, and reliability standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, supporting projects across the company including internal technologies; ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Represent Electra technically for mechanical engineering (and civil / structural where applicable) performed by outside consultants; ensure compliance with company requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee design, development, and validation of mechanical engineering and automation for green iron production; meet or exceed technical, cost, and sustainability goals.
- Optimize plant performance through continuous monitoring and iterative design improvements.
- Manage internal complex mechanical, civil, and structural engineering projects from concept to deployment, delivering on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across the company to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Apply engineering best practices, including documentation, requirements tracking, and system validation processes; identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for plant failures or underperformance; implement solutions to ensure resilience and reliability as production scales.
- Oversee budget to ensure department deliverables are within the approved financial scope; manage timelines and resources for engineering projects.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies and company procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What We Need You To Bring To The Team
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field8+ years of industry experience in mechanical engineering within process engineering or manufacturing environments3+ years of experience in a leadership roleDemonstrated success leading engineering teams to manage complex system-level projectsStrong understanding of engineering principles, including systems integration, testing, and validationProven ability to translate functional plans into operational processes and guide executionExperience leading multidisciplinary teams responsible for process control systems, large-scale production systems, control systems, and industrial applicationsProficiency in CAD, FEA, MATLAB, and related toolsAbility to address complex issues where not all variables are clearly defined; apply fundamental principles to find solutionsStrong stakeholder management with senior management and executives to drive business resultsExcellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyDecision-making under pressure and calmness in challenging situationsProficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint) and ability to quickly learn new toolsWhat We Want You To Bring To The Team

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $135,000-$150,000 and may be adjusted based on skills, experience, and education.Benefits
