What Will You Do

• Work with senior management to execute strategic plans and objectives for the development of industrial plants from demonstration capabilities to full commercialization.
• Provide oversight of the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical engineering systems to meet scalability, sustainability, and reliability standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, supporting projects across the company including internal technologies; ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Represent Electra technically for mechanical engineering (and civil / structural where applicable) performed by outside consultants; ensure compliance with company requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee design, development, and validation of mechanical engineering and automation for green iron production; meet or exceed technical, cost, and sustainability goals.
• Optimize plant performance through continuous monitoring and iterative design improvements.
• Manage internal complex mechanical, civil, and structural engineering projects from concept to deployment, delivering on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across the company to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
• Apply engineering best practices, including documentation, requirements tracking, and system validation processes; identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for plant failures or underperformance; implement solutions to ensure resilience and reliability as production scales.
• Oversee budget to ensure department deliverables are within the approved financial scope; manage timelines and resources for engineering projects.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies and company procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
