Job Title : Electrical EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our team in South Florida. In this role, you will support the electrical design for municipal water and wastewater system-related projects.
Responsibilities
Function as the Designer / Project Engineer on projects involving medium and low voltage power distribution systems, lighting systems, and grounding systems for Municipal Water and Wastewater facilities and Industrial Projects using recognized industry standards and specifications.
Develop design details for electrical power distribution systems (480V level), lighting systems, and control systems for major industrial facilities using recognized industry standards and specifications.
Perform system calculations and studies for electrical power systems, load flows, voltage drops, short circuit / coordination studies using electrical analytical software such as E-Tap and SKM Tools.
Coordinate with CAD Drafters to create new or modify existing drawings.
Perform field investigation and condition assessment of electrical power distribution and control equipment.
Essential Skills
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
4+ years of design and engineering experience for building, including electrical power distribution on industrial or complex commercial projects
Working knowledge of standards and codes pertaining to electrical distribution and control systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel software
Effective communication skills – verbal and writing with supervisor, colleagues, and clients
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with water / wastewater projects is a plus
Preliminary knowledge of instrumentation devices (level / pressure / temperature / flow) preferred
Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
The company culture is very casual and informal, providing employees with the freedom to complete their tasks while offering necessary support. There is flexibility with working hours for production positions. The company is a 50+ person organization with a presence in Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, and South Florida. Employees are required to be in the Ft. Lauderdale office at least three days a week and are allowed to work in a hybrid model. Attendance at meetings in the Tri-County Area may be required 1-2 times per month.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.68 / hr.
