Sr. Technical/Proposal Writer

Amentum is currently searchng for an Sr. Technical / Proposal Writer in our Chantilly, VA location. The Sr. Technical / Proposal Writer engages with the capture team to gather information and participates in solution development.

The Sr. Technical / Proposal Writer is responsible for building solutions and developing written content at the direction of the proposal manager, while adhering to established proposal schedule.

The primary job function for this position is to research / collaborate with Amentum SMEs, Capture and Proposal Management on the most effective way to present proposed approaches and solutions to include producing outlines and contributing to the content design of proposal sections.

Duties include but are not limited to the following :

Reads and reviews Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in accordance with Proposal Management processes and procedures

Conducts research if needed on RFP technical / functional areas to gain better understanding of material to be written

Works closely with technical staff to translate technical concepts into compelling written and graphic materials understandable by a wide audience

Performs research to gain additional insight into effort being proposed

Ensure writing is compliant with the compliance matrix and proposal instructions

Collaborates with other professionals (proposal managers, capture managers and SMEs to gather information to obtain the necessary information to clearly articulate through writing a winning strategy, compelling solutions, and substantiated themes

Integrates color team review comments from multiple sources into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field

Top Secret Clearance required, with TS / SCI preferred

5-7 years of federal government work experience with at least 3 years of experience in writing proposals for Government organizations or Government contracting organizations

Experience working with government solicitations to include requests for information, sources sought notices and market survey / market research

Working knowledge of SharePoint and collaboration environments ( Teams, Zoom)

Knowledge of current proposal writing trends and international best practices

Must be able to travel occasionally to Chantilly, Fredericksburg, and Falls Church, Virginia

Excellent administrative and communication skills

Experience working in cross-cultural environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Top Secret Clearance required, with TS / SCI preferred

Demonstrable knowledge of proposal writing in an international setting, preferred
