We are seeking an experienced Android developer to join our team and provide full-time support for our Android application during an important transitional period. This application is crucial for real-time robot control and integrates seamlessly with various hardware configurations, including robots equipped with manipulator arms. As the primary Android developer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the app while we prepare to transition to a web-based platform over the next 612 months. You will work closely with the VP of Engineering and collaborate with both software and hardware engineers.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain and update two active Android app versions : standard robot control and robot control with manipulator arm (7-DOF).
• Integrate the app with a new UXV operator control unit currently in beta.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, merging fixes across multiple Git branches.
• Optimize video streaming performance using RTSP and GStreamer.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless teleoperation functionality.
• Interface with physical robots for testing and validation.

Work Environment :

The position is based on-site at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, near the stadium district, with an expectation of working 45 days per week on-site initially for acclimation and testing. After the onboarding period, semi-remote flexibility will be available. No travel is required.

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
