Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports. This role ensures compliance with company policies and accounting principles while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and supporting production operations through efficient financial practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities related to accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor account maintenance.
- Ensure invoices are properly coded, approved, and entered in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues promptly.
- Manage month-end closing activities for accounts payable, including accruals and reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function.
- Monitor cash requirements and prepare payment forecasts to support production and purchasing needs.
- Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and production departments to resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Manage 1099 vendor reporting and assist with year-end financial closings.
- Supervise and train accounts payable staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to deadlines.
- Support the Controller and Finance leadership with reporting and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.3–5 years of progressive accounts payable experience; at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.Experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment strongly preferred.Proficient in ERP / accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.Work Environment
Office environment within a manufacturing facility.Must be able to communicate effectively with production, purchasing, and vendor contacts.Occasional visits to the plant floor required for invoice or receiving verification.IND2
