Medical Assistant

Location : ASSESSMENT & OUTPATIENT SERVICES, 337 E. Virginia Ave Bldg B, Phx 85004

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

POSITION SUMMARY :

As a part of our Integrated Healthcare team, this position will provide administrative and clinical support to the Native American Connections (NAC) Provider and the Integrated Clinic's daily operations under the supervision of the Practice Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Administer vaccines and document in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Assist with coordinating Detox and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform and document CLIA-waived tests.
• Assist with setup, calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of CLIA and other medical devices.
• Take and record vital signs and medical histories.
• Collect and record medical-related data accurately.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for provider visits.
• Explain treatment procedures and obtain consents.
• Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
• Assist with medication inventory, ordering, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Follow up on lab results and medical data as directed by the provider.
• Assist clients with new patient paperwork and enter data into the EHR.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and support front office workflows as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and compliance activities.
• Support culturally responsive care following CLAS Standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT : This position is considered to be Non-Exempt and entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per workweek for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws.
