Basic Convenience Foods started in 1981 as a family-owned business manufacturing fry sauce. We have expanded our team and now produce various sauces, such as salad dressings, dipping sauces, and our signature fry sauce.

- Bilingual a plus but not required
- Must be a self-starter and a quick learner
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to effectively work in a team environment
- Able to follow directions and carry out instructions
- Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
- Able to perform tasks and duties under minimal to no supervision
- Able to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Fluent with computers, Microsoft excel, word, iPad
- Must be able to walk or stand for long periods; reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting up to 25lbs
- Able to work well under pressure
- Able to address and resolve complex issues
- Able to oversee, manage, and maintain documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
3-4 years quality experience in food manufacturingMust strive for Quality excellence, take pride in your work, and have a food safety mind setHigh school diploma or GED preferredEffective verbal and written communication skillsThis position requires a great deal of attention to detail with a very high level of work accuracy and the ability to stay on task with minimal supervisionPerform quality testing such as Bostwick Consistometer, Organoleptic, Aw, and pHMust be able to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be willing to work flexible hours including overtime or when neededMust be reliable, on time, and have reliable transportationGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with computers and have a basic understanding of Microsoft applications (word, excel, and power point)Must be able to multitask with minimal supervisionThoroughly complete assigned tasks and in a timely mannerWork well under pressureRESPONSIBILITIES :
Review Pre-Ops and line equipment daily for cleanliness, sign off when approved to startOversee designated production line(s)Quality product testing on every batchOversee mixing and clean room floors are kept clean and dryVerify labels, best by dates, weight checks, ingredients, lot codes, brand names and other critical information is accurately documentedEnforce Good Manufacturing Practices are followedAble to rotate work stationsFollow all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP's, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP's, HACCP, Food Defense Policies, and Safety ProceduresEnforce and support all company Food Defense and Food Security policies and programsChallenge preventive control and document if neededAssist with any Quality Non-Conformances and needed investigationsInitiate HOLD procedure with accuracyDaily inspection of plant ensuring ingredients, packaging material, and boxes are covered or invertedPerform allergen testing when requiredReview allergens for proper storage placement and / or color code identificationAssist with internal audits, quality issues, food safety issuesReport quality, food safety, or suspicious activities to supervisorEnsure proper packaging materials are used for each production runVerify packaging material is removed after change oversPerform daily, weekly, monthly, and / or quarterly duties as directedAssist in mock recallsPrepare Quality materials needed for the following production dayCERTIFICATES
