Blue Line Distribution, the in-house distributor for Little Caesars Pizza, has been family-owned and operated for over 50 years and is dedicated to leading customized and innovative food service logistics with safety as a top priority. We are now hiring an Operations Manager at our facility in Logan Township, New Jersey.
Your Mission
Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for distributing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Operate with independence and autonomy during multiple shifts, as needed. Act as a liaison with Quality Assurance, Logistics, Sanitation, and Maintenance departments. Ensure compliance with all federal and regulatory requirements that are common to the food industry.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Manage the daily operations of the transportation and warehouse functions.
- Review distribution schedules and orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements and work procedures, while considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Manage distribution leads, supervisors, and indirectly manage logistics, sanitation, and maintenance staff.
- Review operations and consult with technical staff to resolve distribution or equipment modification needs to improve efficiency.
- Develop and implement distribution tracking and quality control systems analyzing quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports to detect and resolve distribution challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and international regulatory requirements, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), British Retail Consortium (BRC), and applicable food handling and distribution principles.
- Recommend short- and long-term operating objectives in areas such as cost reduction, quality improvement, new process development, and / or integration.
- Interact with Quality, Human Resources, Research and Development, Maintenance, and other departments to maintain a positive working environment.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting continuous improvement and lean initiatives within the facility.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business Management, or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a warehouse or distribution setting.Preferred experience in the distribution and / or quality assurance of food products with knowledge of raw materials, logistics processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective handling and delivery of goods.Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and international regulatory laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, FDA, USDA, BRC, etc.).Familiarity with material handling equipment and tools, their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with the ability to convey information to a wide variety of audiences.Proven organization and planning skills, including the ability to develop goals and prioritize tasks to achieve results.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate information, identify opportunities, and implement effective solutions.Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practice techniques preferred.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds preferred.Where You'll Work
