Croda is seeking an Operations Manager - Ethylene Oxide (EO) Plant for our Atlas Point site in New Castle, DE. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all direct production activities related to the manufacture and storage of EO at the site, site utilities (steam, water, wastewater) and site sustainability program. The facility is covered under OSHA PSM and this position will be responsible for meeting all PSM requirements including hazard studies, basis of safety and operator training. This position will work closely with the other members of the management team to achieve the goals and objectives of the site. Perform all duties within the Company's safety, health and environmental regulations. This position is a member of the site leadership team and reports to the Site Director.

The successful candidate should have experience successfully leading union and non-union teams, have effective communication skills (verbal and written), teamwork, problem solving, adaptability, and time management. The candidate must have demonstrated competency of working in a continuous high hazard manufacturing environment and adhering to safety and environmental practices.

What You'll Be Doing :

Key Duties

• Serve as a strategic leader, contributing to site-wide initiatives by establishing clear performance benchmarks, ensuring alignment with goals, and driving accountability throughout the team.
• Develop the safety culture of the site resulting in an injury free workplace.
• Optimize overall manufacturing performance and solve site issues in areas of productivity, efficiency, yield and quality.
• Collaborate and build relationships with the local community.
• Manage the overall performance of the department(s) including objective setting, appraisals, training, development, recognition, and discipline up to and including dismissal.
• Develop and manage annual cost budgets for departments, including energy purchase for site.
• Lead Sustainability efforts, primarily in the areas of CO2, to ensure 2030 Goals are accomplished.
• Compliance with corporate and site-specific policies and rules.
• Improve continuous improvement of production systems and have a high standard of housekeeping and organization.
• Comply with PSM requirements. Completion of hazard studies and action follow-up to ensure highest standards are achieved.
• Ensure product quality, RFT and adhere to ISO / GMP regulations.
• Implementation of new products and processes to ensure best utilization of resources.
• Drive and embed a sustainability culture within the organization.
• Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Procurement, Maintenance and QC / QA to achieve production schedule.
