Job Description :
The Department of Public Administration and Policy, housed within the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, is seeking to hire a tenure-track assistant professor in public policy and / or applied microeconomics, starting Fall 2026.
We welcome applications from candidates specializing in a wide range of public policy areas, including but not limited to child and family policy, education policy, energy and / or environmental policy, health policy, international development policy, science and technology policy, artificial intelligence policy, social policy and inequality, and urban policy. Applicants must have a completed doctoral degree from an accredited program by August 15, 2026.
Faculty in Rockefeller College are expected to pursue an active research program, teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in service activities. As such, applicants must 1) be willing to participate and collaborate in departmental activities involving graduate and undergraduate students and 2) possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively?orally and in writing?to diverse audiences.

The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in scholarly research and should be an effective teacher able to instruct both graduate and undergraduate students. Applicants are expected to teach a 2-2 load, likely consisting of two sections of masters-level microeconomics, one section of statistics (either masters or undergraduate), and a public policy elective. Candidates should also be willing to teach courses in online formats when specific needs arise. We particularly encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply, and all applicants should address their ability to work with culturally diverse populations in their application.
