Job Summary :
As a Data Steward, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the organization's data assets.
You will collaborate with various teams to define data standards, policies, and procedures while implementing best practices for data governance.
Your role will involve data analysis, validation, and documentation to support decision-making processes and drive business objectives.
Responsibilities :
- Data Governance : Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Data Quality Management : Implement strategies to monitor, assess, and improve the quality of data across systems and databases.
Identify data quality issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
Data Asset Management : Manage the lifecycle of data assets, including data acquisition, storage, retrieval, and archival.
Define data classification, tagging, and retention policies.
Metadata Management : Define and maintain metadata standards and repositories to facilitate data discovery, lineage, and usage tracking.
Ensure metadata consistency and accuracy.
Data Security and Privacy : Collaborate with information security teams to establish data security protocols, access controls, and encryption mechanisms.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Data Integration and Architecture : Work closely with data architects and engineers to design and implement data integration strategies, data models, and data flows.
Ensure interoperability and consistency across data sources.
Data Analysis and Reporting : Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives and decision-making processes.
Prepare and present data reports and dashboards to stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with business users, data owners, and subject matter experts to understand data requirements, priorities, and challenges.
Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams.
Change Management : Facilitate change management processes related to data initiatives, including communication, training, and adoption strategies.
Promote a data-driven culture within the organization.
Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data management. Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Proven experience in data management, data governance, or related roles.
- In-depth knowledge of data management principles, practices, and technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools, database systems, and data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional - CDMP) are a plus.
