Job descriptionBase contract rates start at $18 / hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can rise to up to $40 / hour with continued work with the same student. Get paid up to twice per week for completed sessions. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Tutor remotely using a purpose-built platform—no commuting required. AI-powered Tutor Copilot assists with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time. Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in Expository Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Priority given to candidates with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education. 1-on-1 Online Tutoring — Provide personalized instruction to individual students. Instant Tutoring — Accept on-demand tutoring requests when you’re available. The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online Expository Writing tutors nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students and tailor instruction to their needs.
- Accept on-demand tutoring requests when available.
- Utilize the platform’s Live Learning tools to deliver engaging, personalized lessons.
- Invoice for tutoring sessions; the company handles payments and logistics.
