ResponsibilitiesOccupational Therapist (OT) Opportunity – Inpatient Behavioral Health
Pembroke Hospital is hiring for a Per Diem Occupational Therapist to join the Activity Therapy team!Pembroke Hospital is a -bed acute care, inpatient behavioral health facility located south of Boston, in Pembroke, MA. Situated on acres, we offer inpatient and partial hospitalization treatment to teens, adults and older adults, and our services are designed to assess, stabilize, and treat patients by addressing their primary symptoms and problems. Serving as a member of the Activities Therapy Department, the Occupational Therapis t is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing a variety of therapeutic groups for assigned patient populations, which may include adolescents and/or adults.

Responsibilities
Develops, organizes and facilitates occupational, activity and skill development groups for patients
Ensures groups are age appropriate and consistent with level of growth, development and functioning
Conducts all assigned occupational, therapeutic and activity groups
Effectively utilizes the screening process to determine each patient’s general level of functioning in the areas of self-management, work/education, and social functioning in order to identify and deliver appropriate therapeutic services
Documents appropriately patient assessments, group notes and narrative notes utilizing chart and/or electronic medium as necessary.
Assists in providing a therapeutic milieu for patient programming
dapts group protocol to engage all participants regardless of individual functional capacity
Identifies short-term goals and monitors progress toward identified long-term goals on the treatment plan.
Identifies interventions for each objective which incorporates patient strengths
Proactively communicates with treatment team regarding patient progress, areas of concern, and potential risks involving patient behavior
Maintains attendance and progress notes for periodic review
Enhances existing programs using creative problem solving for the benefit of patient care
