We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Director of Finance to be a leader in our finance function based in our office in San Francisco. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape the financial future of the brand. You will be a key partner to the executive team, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of financial modeling, data analysis, and a passion for translating complex data into actionable business strategies. Experience in investment banking is highly valued.
You will have a direct impact on the company's trajectory and be a key driver of its success. This role requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, particularly the Planning and Inventory Management, to align financial planning with overall business objectives.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain complex operational models to forecast revenue, expenses, and cash flow, incorporating key business drivers and assumptions.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the financial impact of strategic decisions.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations to improve growth trajectory and profitability.
Budgeting & Planning
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working cross-functionally to gather inputs and ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals.Develop and maintain long-range financial plans, evaluating different growth scenarios and investment opportunities such as new store openings, channel expansion, and partnerships.Reporting & Performance Management
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights to the executive team on business performance.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and commentary.Develop and present financial information to the executive team, board of directors, and investors in a clear and concise manner.Financial Operations
Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations.Implement and maintain strong financial controls and processes.What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field; MBA preferred.7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a demonstrated track record of success in financial modeling and data analysis.Prior experience in investment banking.Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in building complex financial models.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial audiences.Experience in the retail or e-commerce industry is a plus.Hybrid role, 3 days in the office in San Francisco.Why You’ll Love Working With Us
