Position SummaryThe Carpenter holds an important role with the Social House Holiday team. Reporting to the Carpenter Lead, the Carpenter will be responsible for the installation of all elements that include the use of wood as a main structure. Carpenters must be able to interpret design drawings, communicate install methodologies, and lead multiple teams while managing a tight schedule. Working in conjunction with other on site crews, collaboration and coordination is critical to ensuring the success of our event.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure all assets designed with wood as the core structure are properly and safely installedReview drawings and install procedures prior to installationWork within a tight schedule while maintaining quality and safety standardsAssist with building other assets once the carpentry scope is completeAssist with onsite adjustments and repairs as needed during installation and run of showQualificationsExperience in Event / Entertainment industryProficiency in fabrication & assembly methodologies in woodworking Proficient in power and manual tools, ensuring their safe use and maintenanceStrong communication skills and adaptabilityAbility to work well with others in teams and lead teams when necessary Strong understanding of fabrication tools and hardwareAdaptable with the willingness to pivot as neededPhysical RequirementsOur venues span over 100,000 square feetMust be able to frequently walk and stand for long durationsFrequently operates machinery and / or power toolsSocial House Holiday is an outdoor event, and subject to local winter weather. Must dress accordingly and be prepared CertificationsOSHA 10 certification (desired)
