Job Summary
RIT’s Facilities Management Services department is looking for a dynamic Operating Engineer II to join the FMS Engineering Services team. The FMS Engineering Services team is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of large capital equipment for the Central Heating and Cooling Plants, all secondary HVAC / R equipment, and campus infrastructure systems. Main equipment includes 45 MMBTU Medium Temperature Hot Water boilers, 2,550 ton chillers, cooling towers, compressors, pumps, fans, terminal units, and main Air Handling Units.
Schedule
We are hiring for two positions. The schedule for each is listed below.
The team operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Staff are considered essential personnel and must be willing to work irregular or long hours, including call‑in, stand‑by, weekends, holidays, emergency situations, and non‑normal schedules.
