Job Details

Responsibilities :

As a Permanent Purchasing Estimator, you will play a vital role in our construction projects. Your responsibilities will include :

1. Reviewing and analyzing project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.

2. Preparing detailed purchase orders for all necessary materials and equipment.

3. Utilizing software such as Accubid and PlanSwift to accurately estimate costs.

4. Collaborating closely with project managers and other team members to ensure all project requirements are met and to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.

5. Conducting ongoing market research to stay abreast of changing market conditions and to ensure we are receiving the best possible prices.

6. Managing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors.

7. Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets.

8. Ensuring all purchasing activities align with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications :

1. A minimum of three years experience in a similar role within the commercial or residential construction industry.

2. Proven experience as a Residential Estimator.

3. Proficiency in using estimating software, such as Accubid and PlanSwift.

4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

5. Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and techniques.

6. Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

7. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately prepare purchase orders and cost estimates.

8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

10. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well under pressure.
