What you will do :
Work closely with client executives and management teams to understand their businesses and assist in identifying and managing financial and operational risks within their business processes and systemsThe position is a part of the financial services risk advisory team that serves the banking industry in a variety of compliance-based requirements and other advisory work. The position will assist in various model validation and financial analysis engagements that are highly data driven and involved both cash-flow based software and spreadsheet-based modeling.The position will be heavily involved in Current Expected Credit Loss ("CECL") consulting and validation services. CECL is a new accounting requirement that changes the methodology for estimating an entity's allowance for credit losses.Perform CECL model validations including using cash flow-based software to replicate and test client's CECL reserve.Perform CECL advisory-related engagements including back-testing, stress-testing, qualitative factor framework development, etc.Perform model validations on various other major financial and forecasting models including Asset / Liability Management, Liquidity, Mortgage Servicing Rights, Deposit-based, and other Underwriting-based models.Develop and maintain relationships with senior executives of top community banks and credit unions across the nationMaintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise, comply with continuing education requirements, participate in professional organizations, independent study, etc.Review financial institution model governance programs related to credit, interest rate, and liquidity risk to identify gaps and convey best practices.Analyze large sets of financial data to identify value-add observations and trendDemonstrate the desire to continually grow, learn and develop skills and knowledge through external and internal education, training and cross-training opportunities to maximize personal contribution to the organizational goals and ongoing career developmentUtilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clientsSupport the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goalsEnjoy friendships, social activities and team outings that encourage a work-life balanceQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related program2-4+ year(s) financial analyst experience requiredStrong Microsoft Excel skills requiredExperience with Power BI, Tableau and / or SQL is preferredExperience as a client serving professional for a consulting firm desiredExcellent analytical, technical and problem solving skills, with strong attention to detailExceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills
