Overview : Paystar is a rapidly growing technology company, headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, that provides a core payment platform as well as custom implementations of payment software and payment-focused integrations to governments, utility providers, and corporate clients. We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to work within our Development Department helping refine and maintain a well-rounded Quality Assurance process that fits within our existing Development processes and delivery methods. Summary : Conduct testing on software and other technical products to identify and resolve bugs, defects, and other potential issues. Assist with documentation and overall process improvement.Responsibilities : Prepare for all feature testing with requirements review, documentation of verbal requirements and functionality, as well as documenting testing approach Log all defects found Qualifying all defects with an appropriate priority aligned with development and organizational goalsOrganize and document all testing activitiesTest all resolved defectsConduct unguided, ad hoc testing on existing software application product and potentially new software applicationsTest and confirm all new feature releases verifying functionality and requirements metExtensively regression test existing core product as well as potentially new applicationsBuild and maintain a test suite of common test cases for guided testing, regression testing, and smoke testingWork closely with developers and development team to provide insight on the intended functionality of the application based on QA knowledge and understanding of software industry standards, trends, and best practicesClearly document, communicate, and escalate all risks and issues to the QA Manager in a timely mannerWork closely with other QA team members to gain and share subject matter expertiseAble to utilize logs, error codes, and other potential development tools to identify issuesParticipate in development and product discussions to provide product and usability insights Work with development and support teams to build reference / knowledge base material and advocate for overall user experienceOptional : Develop and / or maintain automated testing suites for stable product testingRequired Skills / Abilities : Ability to communicate well in a written formatExcellent organizational and documentation skillsAttentive to detail in all work Ability to formulate test plans via written documentation or meetings / conversations Strong problem solving and analytical skillsStrong interpersonal skills working well with Product Managers, Project Managers, Developers, Executive Leaders, and Support ProfessionalsTeam player and willingness to lend a helping hand, even if outside of your normal job dutiesComputer fluency; working knowledge of software applications and advanced internet functionsProficient in MS Office : Word, Excel, Powerpoint and G Suite : Docs, Sheets, Drive, SlidesOther operational technologies used : Slack, ClickUpPreference will be given to candidates that have the following skills : Spanish speakingGeneral understanding of accounting or reconciliation processesExperience working in utility billingKnowledge of the payments industry is preferred.
